| Welcome to Greenwood Asylum, long-term mental health facility. One walk through these doors and you'll never see the world in quite the same way again. It's the 1930s. The hospital currently houses two trained psychologists, a multitude of nurses and other assistants trained in both psychology and psychiatry. The patients housed here are the most difficult to deal with. Almost every patient has attempted murder on some level, whether it's by suicide or the death of another. Many of the second group succeeded. Naturally, it is almost impossible to find a patient who was not court-ordered. It's not that they're all out for blood, though. Some cracked under too much pressure. Some were in self-defense, but still can't handle that pain. Some see things no one else sees. The reasons are as many as there are patients. The staff here try their hardest with the knowledge they have. While it's known that a good percentage of the patients will never make it back into society, every patient is treated as if he will one day walk the streets of the city again. Every word is a clue. Every motion, a sign. Nothing can be missed with these patients--it could mean the difference between seeing that smiling face returning to the arms of a loved one and having that smiling face be the last thing you ever see. Looking into a mirror, any normal person would see themselves. The world around them, exactly as it is. Something normal. Something safe. If that mirror were broken... how much more, then, would your perception of the world be? |
